2019 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Review

Check out the acceleration in the video… It would feel nothing other than exhilarating, to say the least!

And while you’re at it, check out the creature comforts, the tech and specs that could just blow your head off. 😉   Luxury all ’round!

Here’s what CarSales had to say about the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid in their review.

The Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid has a split personality. It’s a plug-in hybrid you can drive on pure electricity for up to 45 kilometres, reducing your carbon footprint. The silence is soothing. Or you can engage berserker mode. This combines V8 turbo and electric power to deliver the kind of acceleration usually only required to break free of the earth’s gravitational pull.

This is not a watered down Porsche for posers either. It still chases hard on challenging roads, thanks to an array of Entagon-grade tech. I’m talking active roll bars, adaptive dampers and air suspension, all of which conspire to make this super-heavy German feel light on its feet and dynamically satisfying.

With massive brakes and fat tyres, it’ll hot-lap at the racetrack too.

The eight-speed dual clutch transmission is a slick unit too, with super-quick shifts. But you’ll pay handsomely for the Porsche badge and the performance that goes with it.

I mean, there are some inner-city apartments that cost less that this car. It is just insane.

The levels of luxury and attention to detail it delivers are impressive. But it had to be. The previous Panamera was drab. This is just gorgeous. Let’s start with the seats.

Not only are they covered with beautiful subtle leather and really nice cushions, they just look awesome. It’s almost like a racing car seat had sex with a fancy luxury sofa. They are just gorgeous. The seats are electrically adjustable in every which way and I love the side bolsters. They’ve got these little air bladders that puff out and really grip you in in the tight corners. Really cool.

Everything has a premium feel, from the indicator stalks to this avant-garde touch panel.

The plush pile carpets are lovely and the back seats are almost as good as the front. There’s air vents, coat hooks, LED reading lamps and one of the prettiest touch screen panels you’ll find in a back seat.

If you can find someone trustworthy to drive this Porsche for you, the back of the car is a pretty special place to hang out.

This may be one of the fastest Porsche Panamera’s you can buy today. But, as you can see, it retains a modicum of pragmatism. Ample for four passengers? Check. Decent boot space? Uh, check.

Despite its significant width and five-metre length, it’s not a bad city cruiser either. And the EV mode makes commuting impressively calm and quiet.

Fuel consumption was surprisingly low, even with all the tomfoolery. But what I loved most is the breath-taking propulsion. The lusty V8 engine is amazing but this German cruise missile has a softer EV side that does make a lot of sense.

And in the car world sometimes a split personality is a good thing.
